Различие и сходство биологических признаков беломорских сельдей и балтийской салаки

Abstract

Беломорские сельди и балтийская салака, являющиеся наиболее ответвившимися формами мало- и многопозвонковых сельдей и типичными эндемиками окраинных полузакрытых водоемов, имеют между собой значительно больше сходных биологических признаков, чем тихоокеанские и атлантические сельди. Сходные биологические признаки определяются характером поведения беломорских сельдей и балтийской салаки, условиями их нереста и т. д. В то же время имеются и существенные различия в биологических признаках обеих этих форм; в частности, рост балтийской салаки происходит более интенсивно, чем мелких беломорских сельдей. Кроме того, она обладает более высокой плодовитостью./Both subspecies under consideration - the White Sea herring and the Baltic herring - are branched off forms of herrings with a high and a low number of vertebrae, the typical endemic forms of extreme, semi-losed water bodies. There are two Baltic herring races within the Baltic Sea - the spring spawning and the autumn spawning Baltic herrings. The spawning of herrings in the White Sea takes place only in spring (small herring) and summer (large herring). There is a rather noticeable similarity between the Baltic herring and the White Sea herrings with a low number of vertebrae in the character of spawning, place of spawning grounds, attachment of eggs to underwater plants and temperature conditions of spawning. However the further development of the Baltic herring takes place at a higher and considerably varying temperature. The average fecundity of the Baltic herring is much higher than that of small White Sea herrings. The stock of the Baltic herring is several times that of the White Sea herrings.
