dc.description.abstract | A number of plankton laser meters of TRAP family has been developed in VNIRO to estimate the size and quantitative composition of mesoplankton directly in the water column with simultaneous visualization of its spatial distribution both in the mode of vertical probing at the stations and that of vessel running by means of the towed carrier or pumping system. A good choice of the Black Sea as a place for testing, due to the peculiarities of its hydrology, will significantly reduce and optimize the design and verification of virtually all models of plankton laser meters in the TRAP family. Examples of the most significant results obtained during the sea trials of the probe carried out withing various areas of the World Ocean are given. | ru_RU |
