dc.description.abstract The paper presents materials on diet composition and feeding peculiarities of 16 non-target fish species in the Kara Sea in 2007-2011. Diet similarity among studied species as well as among diet of fishes in the Kara Sea and the northern Barents Sea were considered. Three trophic groups were revealed - most species (10 species) were benthivorous, 3 species - planctivorous and 3 species - piscivorous. It was shown that there are potential feeding competitors for commercial fish (polar cod, Greenland halibut). Generally the trophic structure of the Kara Sea fish community is characterized by dominance of benthivorous species (by species number) and low portion of piscivorous species, but the most abundant species belong to planctivorous fish. ru_RU
