Pacific Salmon Hatchery Program on Russian Far East: Current Status and Essential Problems

Abstract

The comparative research of current status of pacific salmon artificial reproduction in Russian Far East is presented in this paper. Environmental and economic aspects important for decision making with respect to organization of artificial reproduction are provided. Critical analysis of different approaches to assessment of hatcheries effectiveness is given.
