Аннотация:
Work on the artificial reproduction of sturgeons began in Russia for almost a century and a half ago which resulted in a certain success. But in the recent two decades after the disintegration of the USSR, followed by the weakening of comprehensive measures on conservation and rational use of sturgeons, they found themselves as endangered species as a consequence of the effect of anthropogenic factors. Their commercial reproduction does not compensate the decline in natural reprodudtion, much less the intensive poaching. Recovery of stugeon stocks up to a level allowed their commercial fishery to be made, provided that the poaching could be eliminated, is only possible through a significant increase in efficiency of industrial sturgeon reproduction. It can be achieved owing to the implementation of the proposed methods which would provide better quality and viability of released juveniles.
